Alaffia aims to empower the communities it works with in Togo.  Through the traditional creation of shea butter products, Alaffia seeks to alleviate poverty and empower women.  Alaffia’s work fosters skills development and entrepreneurial endeavors.  The goal is allow the people of Togo to share their vast traditional knowledge with the rest of the world through everyday skin and beauty products thereby helping to transform one of the world’s poorest nations into beautiful, prosperous Togo.

Alaffia’s empowerment programs touch every aspect of their community’s lives.  From education to maternal health to forest rehabilitation, programs organized by Alaffia have important impacts in Togo.
