Ethic Goods works with women in Ethiopia seeking to improve their lives after being diagnosed HIV+. They create everyday accessories out of bullet casings from former conflict zones of east Africa that are then remade into beads. Each piece of jewelry turns the products of war into something beautiful.
Oft marginalized for their HIV+ status, the women of Ethic make fair and living wages for their work whilst being able to chart their own course in life. Adequate income and safe working conditions provide stability for artisans and help to lift them out of poverty. Ethic Goods’ artisans get more than a fair wage, they gain hope in living a dignified, prosperous life.
