Eyeglass Holders – The Art of Woodcraft
The traditional art of woodcarving plays an important role for many artisan communities in small towns and agricultural villages in north central India. Artisans uses hand tools to skillfully carve blocks of sustainably harvested wood into items that are both functional and beautiful, like our eyeglass holders! This art form requires mastery to create the intricate carving, filigree, and inlay work.
In addition to receiving a fair, living wage, artisans at these collectives also have access to basic services and development solutions to enable self-sufficiency, including healthcare and education.

Our Small Prickly Pear Cactus is cute as can be and a little bit prickly! Handmade felt components are created and assembled by skilled artisans working in a fair trade production center in Kathmandu, Nepal. Artisans use 100% natural wool and non-toxic, azo-free dyes. Waste dye water is drained into a neighboring garden for growing food. Wool scraps are recycled into new products.
