Sun Tea Recipe:
Step 1: Pick your favorite fair trade tea.
Step 2: You’ll need 8 tea bags per gallon of water
Step 3: Unwrap the tea bags and tie their strings together.
Step 4: Put tea bags in a clear, gallon sized jug filled with water – outside in the sun of course! They’ll need to brew for at least an hour.
Step 5: In the mean time, cut a handful of fresh herbs (we’ll need these later). We used lemon thyme from my garden.
Step 6: After an hour or more, depending on how strong you like your tea, the water will have changed color and your tea is ready!
Step 7: “Serrv” your homemade sun tea from an ice-filled fair trade pitcher (this beautiful recycled glass pitcher is perfect – from Serrv).
Step 8: Pour into this beautiful chai tea glass set from Nkuku and garnish each glass with those herbs we picked earlier! There’s plenty of tea for everyone!
Step 9: Time to enjoy! Drink responsibly. Drink Fair Trade!
