Give Back Partnerships

Global Heart, Local Roots

While the core of our mission is to promote fair trade goods made almost exclusively in other parts of the world, we also have a strong connection to our local communities. We are excited to launch our new Give Back Partnerships program to showcase and support local non-profit organizations that are doing great work right here in our own towns.

Program Details

How does it work?

We donate 15% of in-store sales over a given shopping period (usually Tuesday-Friday) to a local non-profit. The more customers shop with us, the more funds we raise together!

If you work for or are connected to a 501(c)3 certified non-profit organization based in Seattle or Boulder and are interested in partnering with us, reach out!

How to have a successful event

Successful fundraisers are the result of 100% participation of all stakeholders! We are going to do all we can to spread the word to our friends, supporters, and customers, but please know this is YOUR fundraiser held in our space.

We have found that events work the best when the organization is directly involved and present during the event. You are the best at representing your organization and can talk directly with our customers!

Organizing Your Nonprofit Meet & Greet Event

Plan a “Meet and Greet” event to be held at the store. This is a tremendous opportunity for your organization to share information about your work with our customers and to encourage them to shop for your cause. Choose individuals from your nonprofit that can commit to a set time slot and schedule them accordingly to fill the day

Spreading the Word Online

Utilize all social media platforms to spread the news. Create a Facebook Event and invite all Board Members and their networks (ideally a few weeks before the event) and send us a co-host request. Please tag @fairtradewinds. Once tagged, we can amplify your event by sharing it on our page.

Newsletter Outreach

Mention this fundraiser in your e-Newsletter communications.

Live Posting & Updates

During the event, post on all social media platforms inviting your network to shop at Fair Trade Winds.

Things you (the organization) does:

In-Store Marketing Support

We will create a flier to pass out at our store a week or two before the event.

Make Our Space Your Own

During the event, our store is yours to use as you see appropriate

Event Equipment

We can provide a table for the “Meet and Greet” event in our store.

Our Social Media & Newsletter Support

We will share updates on all our social media platforms and include in our weekly newsletter.

15% Donation

We will donate 15% of total sales to your organization during the time of the event.

Remember, online purchases also qualify! If anyone on your network indicates they cannot make it to our store during event, encourage them to purchase online. They can simply add a comment in the notes section of the cart.
